L. Fontaine loves to read.
The obsession started in her teens, with authors such as Stephen King and Wilbur Smith (odd combination, right?) but, in recent years, her focus has turned purely to romance novels. Her favourite authors now include JT Geissinger, CD Reiss and JA Huss, but the list grows almost daily. As does her TBR pile.
It was during the lockdown period of COVID-19 that L’s husband decided it was time she put down her books and pick up her laptop. Books needed to be written and she was the one to do it. With his constant encouragement and faith (and no small amount of pestering), she self-published her first book on the 14th of February 2021. It’s been an amazing journey, learning about the industry and meeting wonderful people who have been incredibly supportive.
They say you should write what you enjoy reading, so L’s books tend to stray from fluffy, feel-good romance and rather explores the slightly darker side of life when plans don’t work out and people don’t act the way you expect.
That doesn’t mean it’s all doom and gloom! After all, one of life’s great pleasures is to be able to laugh, so you can count on L to include plenty of movie and TV references to her books to add some comedy to the mix. Because, as anyone will tell you, obscure quotes are what keeps the romance alive…right?
