L. Fontaine loves to read. The obsession started in her teens with authors such as Stephen King and Wilbur Smith (odd combination, right?), but in recent years her focus has turned purely to romance novels. Favorite authors now include JT Geissinger, CD Reiss and JA Huss, but the list grows almost daily. As does her TBR.

It was during the lockdown period of COVID19 that L’s husband decided it was time she put down her books and picked up her laptop. Books needed to be written and she was the one to do it. With his constant encouragement and faith (and no small amount of pestering), she self-published her first book on the 14th of February 2021 and it’s been an amazing journey, learning about the industry and meeting wonderful people who have been incredibly supportive.

They say you should write what you enjoy to read. So L’s books tend to stray from fluffy, feel-good romance, rather exploring the slightly darker side of life when plans don’t work out and people don’t act the way you expect. That doesn’t mean it’s all doom and gloom, because one of life’s great pleasures is to be able to laugh, so you can count on movie and TVreferences to add some comedy to the mix. Because as anyone will tell you, obscure quotes are what keeps the romance alive, right?
